Marea Mirage finds extraordinary natural places, then builds one night of house music around what each place does to you.
The idea
The place changes
what you hear.
A great set in a windowless room is a great set. The same set on a cliff-backed beach at golden hour is something people plan a trip around. The place is doing half the work, so we treat it as the first decision — find it, earn access, then build the night it deserves. What plays there is chosen for it: the terrain, the hour, the light, the way sound carries over water or under trees. Somewhere you'd want to be even in silence, with music that makes you glad you're not.
How we work
Four things that make
the night.
The place
Chosen before anything else, and capped well below what it could hold. If you can't see the water, the room is too big.
The sound
A system tuned on site the morning of, set for the space it's actually in. Full on the floor, and still quiet enough to talk at the edges.
The music
Long sets, no filler, artists chosen for the place and briefed on the hour they're playing. House music with somewhere to go.
The arrival
Boats, road transfers and timings arranged for every guest. Getting there is part of the night, not an obstacle to it.
Who
Habibi Del Mar,
and a small crew.
Marea Mirage is run by Habibi Del Mar, who will be on the decks in Samaná alongside Dominican selectors. Samaná is the first event under the name — there will only ever be one first one.
